At Prakriti, we believe that this is not the age for being burdened with academics but for free and creative exploration, developing good habits for lifelong health and happiness and achieving healthy self-image and self-acceptance. It is in these early years that a child’s understanding about the world is beginning to take shape. The influences that bear on him at this stage will determine his attitude towards the world.

Creative ways of learning and self-expression through art, music and dance, drama and sharing of thoughts emphasise encouraging the inherent inquisitiveness of children, and opening up all the senses to facilitate inner-outer learning.
All of the above lay the foundation for a joyful exploration of the academic curriculum that includes the study of languages, mathematics and sciences with the use of concrete, real-world objects and familiar, real-life situations. Children internalise concepts and move ahead on the path to discovery and understanding rather than rote-leaning or mere rememberance of facts.

The Early Years program at Prakriti offers parents the highest standards of safety, care and learning for their young child. Special emphasis is placed on development of physical and emotional faculties. Our loosely structured curriculum allows plenty of time for physical as well as quiet activities, group as well as individual play, music and dance, art and craft, story time and meals.

Prakriti's progressive curriculum for the Junior School (4+ and 5+ years) places as much emphasis on developing life skills such as time management, completing work cycles, concentration and self-discipline, as on academic skill development. We emphasise continued development of physical and emotional strength, which forms the basis for independence, confidence, positive self-worth and more complex social skills of team-work, conflict resolution and respect for everyone’s uniqueness.
